CNG Safety & Control Process

Author -

At GES, LLC, safety is at the core of everything we do. As part of our commitment to environmentally friendly transportation, we use Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) – a fuel known not only for its clean-burning properties but also for its inherent safety features.

Why CNG Is a Safe Fuel Choice

One of the standout characteristics of CNG is that it is lighter than air. In the rare event of a leak, the gas naturally rises and disperses quickly, reducing the risk of a combustible mixture forming near the fuel source. This inherent buoyancy is a key factor in our overall safety strategy.

Rigorous Inspection and Quality Control Process

Beyond the natural benefits of CNG, our commitment to safety is demonstrated through a stringent quality control process applied at every stage of our vehicle maintenance and installation. Here’s an inside look at our multi-step inspection process:

Pre-Installation Checks:

Before any CNG system is installed, our team conducts a thorough pre-installation inspection. This includes scanning the engine for any codes and meticulously documenting the system’s baseline condition. Every hose, bolt, and component is checked for potential issues.

Tank and Hardware Security:

Our tanks are mounted using robust bolts and brackets that are carefully fastened and integrated with the vehicle’s frame. Each bracket is designed to ensure the tank remains level and secure, minimizing any risk of movement or loosening over time.

Leak Checks and Wiring Management:

Safety inspections include comprehensive leak checks at the tank and along all fuel lines. We ensure that no wiring is routed near exhausts or engine heat sources, and every wire under the hood is tidied, tied down, and secured to prevent interference or damage. Hoses are inspected to ensure there are no kinks, and any soldered connections inside the system are reinforced with heat shrink tubing and tied to their harness to prevent shorts.

Installation and Post-Installation Inspections:

During the installation process, each step is closely monitored by two sets of experienced CNG technicians. They check the hoses and tank installation step by step, performing final post-installation checks to confirm that everything is in proper working order. The lead CNG technician conducts a thorough front-to-back inspection, a process that is repeated to ensure no detail is overlooked.

Ongoing Maintenance:

After installation, our commitment to safety continues with routine inspections and quality control checks. Every component of the CNG system is regularly examined to maintain the highest safety standards, ensuring that our vehicles are always ready to perform at their best.

A Culture of Safety and Excellence

At GES, LLC, our rigorous inspection protocols and quality control measures ensure that every CNG-powered vehicle operates safely and efficiently. Our approach is designed to instill confidence in our customers, knowing that every element – from the secure mounting of tanks to the meticulous management of wiring and hoses – is maintained to the highest standard.

By integrating advanced engineering with diligent inspection practices, we not only meet but exceed industry safety standards. Whether you’re a parent, a fleet operator, or a community member, you can trust that our commitment to safety is unwavering.
